It's time for my annual sojourn to the Canadian wilderness, so while my Musical Thinking won't stop while I'm away, my posting will. I have lots of tapes and CDs in the pipeline for when I return.

Can Broadway bring back all the possibilities we first dreamed in our youth?
As I career from career to career...
Stuck in mid-life and mid-career on the administrative side of the arts, I've decided to spend some time getting back to what inspired me in the first place to dream of a life in music and theater. Of course, I'm talking about
Broadway Musical cast albums!
For each entry, I'm going to listen to a cast album, watch a musical on DVD, or (best yet) see a musical live on stage. Will this former chorus boy relive the days when anything was possible and a life in the theater was a dream? Or has the bitterness of adulthood infested even the sunniest of soundtracks? Is this all too gay, even for me?
I'll share as much information as I can about the productions I attend (in Chicago), the albums I listen to, and films I watch, so you can listen and watch along with me.
And please feel free to suggest cast albums, films, shows for me to add to my Year. My meager collection is going to run low very quickly!
